A massive thanks to Barnsley for putting out such quality opposition for my last full appearance for the fans team. I wanted a hard game and I got it. Most of our games this season have been really tough and this was another one, but saying that I feel that's a good sign for this league.

As for the game it's self, Barnsleys' three centre midfield players and two strong centre half's made it really tough for us to get anything through the middle, our best bet being down the flanks. Our two goals came through this route and they were quite simple in their execution. Jason our main threat equalised their stunning opening goal by laying one on a plate for Andy and Jason himself cutting in on the right again equalised Barnsleys second goal. The Barnsley winner was poor from our point of view, their lad was allowed to bring the ball down in our area drag it back before pulling the trigger and blasting in past our keeper without a challenge. It was good goal but one that we should have delt with. After that we ran into a brick wall as Barnsley made sure of the win by packing their defence and hitting it long when they had the chance.

Jason was our man of the match, the lad needs to calm his temper down but he wears his heart on his sleeve for us and always give us everything. Kershaw was a threat early on but faded as the game wore on. Our two front lads struggled to make any impact on the game against a tough Barnsley defence but when they did have chance to hold it up for us it didn't happen leaving us with Jason as the only real outlet for us. Jimmy Higgins again proved a driving force in midfield and is turning out to be a strong player for us. You can tell he is working hard on his fitness and Matty got into the game when he came on more than he as done lately.

Thanks to all the lads today for your efforts. I mixed the teams up a bit today with us having two games and it answered a lot of questions for me.
